ALBERT “BUZ” LEBLANC

Albert “Buz” LeBlanc attended grammar and high school in Breaux Bridge and earned his bachelor’s degree from USL (now UL Lafayette). After getting his degree, Buz felt a calling to serve his country, prompting him to join the Navy. Buz retired as a Lieutenant Commander after serving for 20 years. Buz then worked with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office and then went back to get his master’s degree from UL Lafayette. Buz is married to Angelic Angelle LeBlanc, with whom he manages a successful Breaux Bridge business.

Buz has a wealth of administrative and leadership experience, making him uniquely qualified to be the next Chief of Police of Breaux Bridge. Buz has worked with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the United States Coast Guard (USCG) throughout his military career and as a Deputy with the Sheriff’s department under Sheriff Fusilier and Sheriff Breaux. Buz also served in the Louisiana Sheriff’s Statewide Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force. Buz’s past experiences have taught him that inter-agency cooperation is key to solving the drug problem. He knows success requires working with outside agencies that can provide resources and expertise which increase the effectiveness of the Breaux Bridge Police Department.
